Seda UK
Building multi-purpose storage and warehousing, 3 sites and growing – Seda UK is the UK division of Seda the Italian owned global food packaging company. ASR Projects is contracted to undertake on-going multiple works for Seda UK at their three-site facility based in South Wales. Working with Seda’s own Italian Engineers Interprogetti over the past ten years, we provide a range of contractor services from build to maintenance works carried out across the three sites. Our own Seda sub-team are permanently on site, on the ground and always highly responsive.
Walls, Floors & infrastructure
ASR Projects have been responsible for the main capital expenditure projects including the extensive re-development of Seda 3, the factory extension of Seda 2, construction of the large lorry and car park infrastructure, build and installation of main security office and barrier system, weighbridge construction, and installation of 1200m of perimeter fencing. We also carry out daily building maintenance and across Seda UK’s three sites.
Giampeiro Martuscelli | Lead Engineer, Interprogetti, Italy |Through a robust tender process we appointed ASR Projects to undertake the £1.5 million Project to re-develop a 25,000m2 warehouse for SEDA UK. It was a challenging build programme with many disciplines to overcome, from demolition, cast in situ concrete and internal fit out.
Not having worked with ASR before we didn’t know what to expect. It was at an early stage that we developed an excellent working relationship. The ASR Management team were always on hand to work with us and develop the Project. Their Professionalism, high quality of workmanship and attitude to safety on site were always evident. The Project was a success thanks to ASR and their team and we look forward to working with ASR on many projects to come.
Seda 3 Re-development
Seda 3 is a 1970’s 25,000m2 building that has undergone an extensive re-development into a multi-purpose storage and warehouse facility. The works involved extensive demolition, new loading docks, steel frame extension, new offices, new medical room, new plant room, new siphonic drainage systems to the vast roof, and render system finish to the externals, One of the biggest and challenging aspects of work carried out was the installation of the expansive power-floated polished concrete floors throughout the building and quarantined areas.
Seda 2 Factory extension
Seda 2 is where the raw material is manufactured into the wide range of food packaging and like Seda 3 is a quarantined area. ASR Projects were responsible for building the new portal frame factory extension, the installation of new Kingspan cladding to the externals, and modifications to the loading docks. The power-floated polished concrete floors to the quarantined factory floor areas were also laid.
The detail – industrial and robust
From small details to large details, all projects for Seda UK’s require acute attention to detail and much of it is hidden detail particularly in the quarantine areas within the manufacturing and warehousing facilities. From polished floor finishes to external rendered systems, siphonic drainage to extensive ground-works and perimeter fencing – details refined, clean and robust.
